O’Neill’s illegal logging: 364 days and counting…

count - 364

It is now 364 days since Prime Minister Peter O’Neill was informed that SABL leases have been used by foreign companies as a scam to illegally grab more than 5 million hectares of customary land.

It was on June 24, 2013 that O’Neill was given the reports of the SABL Commission Inquiry.

For 364 days O’Neill has failed to revoke the unlawful SABL leases and been complicit in the illegal logging of forest resources.

Mr O’Neill last week said the National Executive Council has ordered some of the leases to be revoked and others will be further reviewed – but at this point in time NO leases have been cancelled and NO illegal logging operations have been stopped

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has aided and abetted the theft of logs worth hundreds of million of kina and the destruction of thousands of hectares of pristine forest.

Read more about who, where and exactly how much is being stolen.

It seems that our dear prime minister has placed himself in alot of trouble with managing the affairs of the state. His actions has amounted to problems as most of his decisions are not made for the best interest of the Nations as a whole but for himself, only a few and for those that will benefit from it.

In PNG the land is owned by the people therefore any land deals must first of all, agree with the requirements the natural habitat of the concerned land has before other paper work or development can be done.

Oneil says that several land deals have been revoked, but in actual fact non of it was revoked and it as past 347 days. It is very bad for someone who the nation is looking upon to lie to those who look upon you, in fact it is something one should be ashamed of.

Please see that proper documentation and those that need to be revoked, be revoked as this land belongs to the people and the Minister mandatory is also for the people and not for you and you cabinet members.

The Land and the resources that we are blessed with is for the people of this nation and not for you individual person and your followers. As the Head of State, take some responsibility, you shuold be ashamed of yourself and your action.

Do the right thing while you have time.
