The National cautioned over biased reporting on SABL CoI

The National newspaper has been cautioned not to be biased in its reporting over the Commission of Inquiry into Special Agriculture Business Leases in the Pomio District of East New Britain Province, reports the Post Courier.

Commissioner Alois Jerewai, presiding over the Commission of Inquiry into the SABL in the Pomio District, cautioned yesterday and urged The National newspaper which is owned by Rimbunan Hijau, the giant Malaysian logging company that holds most of the timber licences in the country, “to be more responsible’’ in its reporting following an article that appeared in the paper yesterday.

Just before the commencement of the hearing in Kokopo yesterday morning, Commissioner Jerewai said he was not happy with the article, saying the report was incorrect.

He asked The National newspaper’s reporter, who was present at the hearing yesterday and “the editors and owners of the newspaper to be responsible in what it reported, reflected what was being said at the commission of inquiry hearings otherwise they could be pulled up for contempt.

Commissioner Jerewai said it was important that articles “pertaining to this sensitive issue must be fairly represented and not to be seen to be influencing the findings of the commission in anyway’’.

The commission of inquiry hearings in Kokopo began on Monday, with East New Britain provincial administrator Akuila Tubal being called up to certify a lands investigation report which bears his signature. The Commission of Inquiry continues today and is expected to wind up on Friday.

There you go! That says it all about Malum and RH owned National. The national has been so biased throughout the whole saga. They keep on reporting garbage and I suggest Malum Nalu faces the media council’s privileges committee for his biased and unprofessional reporting of an important issue. He should be sanctioned. Also, every body should now know that Brice Kopeland who posts his comments on PNGexposed appears to be Malum Nalu himself. I can judge from the way he used similar patterns of comments about Martyn Namorang on his own blog. Let me put another way. The stupid pattern of comments Malum Nalu made against Mr. Namorang on his own blog (Malum’s blog) bears all the hallmarks of Brice Kopeland on PNGexposed. Hence, it appears to me that Brice Kopeland is actually Malum Nalu. As they say, “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck”. So Malum, yu no smat tumas lo haitim teil blo yu.

Mr Kanau Sion. I thought so too when I read his comments about Martyn Namorang. Malum Nalu, shame on you. You have stooped so low, so low to your lowest ebb. Now we know what kind of journalist you are. You RH puppet. The people of PNG will know that you have betrayed them. You are a modern day version of Judas the betrayer.

Why is Malum Nalu masquerading as Brice Copeland, a not subtle word play on the very real human being Bruce Copeland? Why would Malum want to rubbish Bruce Copeland in this way?

Bruce Copeland is not Malum Nalu. Bruce Copeland is a mentally unbalanced Australian who believes that the green movement in PNG is controlled by gays. When he saw that Greenpeace had arrived in Pomio, he must have gone wild. On his own website (http://familypositiveliving.blogspot.com/) he writes: “The nation has to watch the Greens Party. With Dorothy Tekwie as president, there are many environmental issues. Present members may not realize the PNG Greens have a hidden gay and lesbian agenda just like their opposite number in Australia.” His blog is filled with antigay material and seems to think that gays control the HIV work in PNG as well as the PNG environmental movement.
